Change Management

"Change is the law of life and those who look only to the past or present are certain to miss the future." - JFK

Recently Richard Hartley worked with Shell Syria Petroleum Development (SSPD), on a change improvement project. Working with a team of fellow MBA students, the objective was to evaluate the success of one of Shells change implementation exercises and provide constructive improvements for Shell that could be embodied in their next 'Phase 2' stage.

Beyond the exercise itself, which utilised one-on-one interview techniques and bulk data collection methods using on-line surveys, one of the most interesting features was the virtual teaming method that was employed between students in 3 countries, and the aggressive use of internet meeting and communications technology to discuss and publish reports.

As modern constraints require organisations to be more adaptive and financially lean, being able to leverage modern communication techniques for training and business execution is a great strength

The Team have been able to provide valuable feedback on change and HR policy to benefit the next stages of SSPD's organsiational design.
