30+ Years of Military and Commercial Engineering Experience
The lead consultant within Technospirit Consulting is Richard Hartley. Over the past 30+ years Rich has worked with a number of blue chip companies and smaller organisations, in a wide range of engineering and leadership roles across both Military and Civil applications.
A Chartered Engineer, MBA-qualified Programme Management and Support Solutions leader, Rich has delivered engineering R&D, new product development (from specification, design, test, through to declaration of performance), bid management with total won bids now in excess of £750m, and through-life support solutions across major fixed/rotary wing aircraft, with the largest solution at £600m+.
Whilst his career emphasis has been international and multi-nation complex aerospace programmes, he has also undertaken work in radar, satellite, land communications, training and more. Each one offering different perspectives and challenges. Particular strengths lie in bridging engineering, finance, and commercial functions to create compelling solutions that drive business growth, create high-value bids and allow large-scale contract development & delivery.
Over the years, Rich has actively worked in business strategy across functions up to 400+ heads, developed engineering teams of 60+ heads, managed senior stakeholder engagement and delivered capability growth. With proven business operations and overseas site lead experience, he has also trained teams in complex bid management and provided corporate mentoring. Previous recognition includes - Boeing Technical Lead Engineer, Designated Expert in Support Solutions, Managing Director's and Chairman's Awards, and a member of an 'APMP Project of the year' team.
By forging a career working in different tiers of the supply chain and various business functions, Rich has gained many insights into integrating businesses holistically in changing and turbulent circumstances. This hands on experience is supported by a strong academic background in business management and engineering, providing clients with a rounded package of applied knowledge.
